Open Net

The hardest part of hockey for the Badgers the last two nights was trying to score an open net goal. Though tonights was the goalie was at least on his way back to the net, we still couldn't bury the puck. Oh well.

Badgers lose 1 to 0

Thank God for Dog Poo

If the Bulldogs didn't miss some easy ass plays last night, the outcome would have been heavy the opposite way. The Badger goalie played like crap and looked like a fish out of water. He just looked confused. It was strange.
In the last minute of the game the Bulldogs pulled the goalie and we had a hell of a time getting the puck in the open (but not so open net). Whoever the poor Bulldog was that was attempting to be a goalie with no pads did an excellent job for as long as he could. I commend him for his effort.
Hopefully the Badgers will come out with some spark tonight and sweep the Bulldogs.

Put To A Vote

So LGM has asked me to come to Kato for the Badger/Mavs series. So I'm putting it to a vote.
Its a 2 part vote.

1. Do I travel to Kato where I tend to make bad luck for the Badgers?

2. Do I brave the loner trip or do I make Jenny come with me? (not that I'd have to make her)

Badgers Sweep

Not that sweeping UAA is much to be proud of but the Badgers did pull out 4 points on some ok playing. The video feed was something terrible to try to watch but the sound was good at least and it was free. The St. Cloud feed WinTwins let me use last year was like watching HD compared to this. Anyhow, some good goals were scored but Connelly let slop ones go behind him. He made some key stops in some odd man rush attempts though so we'll give him a little slack.

Record?

Is there some sort of record that the Badgers are going that requires a multitude of injuries?
Brendan Smith broke his wrist. Not sure how long he's out but I'd guess awhile.
On the good side, the World Juniors should be back this weekend.

Seriously?

How do you lose a 3 goal lead when playing against Northern Michigan?
Really for all you other teams out there, here is a good strategy...let the Badgers get ahead by 2 goals and then they just sit on their heels the rest of the time and will allow you to score as many goals as you want. This has always been an issue with the Badgers every year. Grr!
Aside from them losing both games, they were actually fun games to watch at least.

Win Streak

Despite some great play Saturday it was an ok weekend. Alabama-Huntsville are like midgets to St. Cloud. Except their bigfoot looking goalie. Anyways they were terrible and only got 10 shots on goal the entire game.
Sunday the Badgers had zero motivation but still came out with a shootout win. The bad side is that yet another forward is injured and we have 2 defensive guys in the WJC.
We are gonna need a little hope for next weekend. Pretty soon we might need some players!
